Octopus Craft

My daughter wanted to continue with marine-themed crafts, and this time, offered me to make the octopus handicraft. Easy, fast & fun, this craft can be created even by kids aged 3. It’s a perfect option for teaching your child use scissors – it involves a bit of cutting.

Materials For Octopus Craft

Octopus craft materialsWe will need:

  • Colored paper (choose any color);
  • Scissors;
  • Ruler;
  • Pen;
  • Marker or pencil;
  • Glue stick.

Step 1

Take a piece of colored paper. Make a horizontal line to divide head and body. Draw vertical lines up to the horizontal line – those will be tentacles. We made lines 2 cm wide.

Step 1

Step 2

On the cover side, draw the octopus’ face using the marker. Cut the tentacles.

Step 2

Step 3

Bend the piece of paper into a roll and stick ends using the glue stick.

Step 3

Step 4

To make tentacles curly, use scissors or a pencil: press and move along the stripes all way down. The more force you apply, the curlier it gets.

Step 4

Look at these friendly creatures: no other octopus craft looks as friendly as this one!
